In 2019, Volodymyr Zelensky ran for office under the loud slogan "Spring will come – we’ll start planting" (there is a play of words in this saying: it is natural to plant something in spring vs. it is natural to put somebody in jail with the arrival of new time and power).

We won’t discuss today how and against whom he realized it. Another thing is more important now. Soon, spring will come again. And not just the calendar spring. Global political events are developing so rapidly that Ukraine might soon face elections. And the new government will certainly be asked to investigate all the crimes that the old government, for whatever reasons, ignored. Everyone currently in high office should think about this carefully.

Why are we writing about this? We’ve received information that OCU activists intend to repeat the Cherkasy scenario in Chernivtsi – to seize the main shrine of the UOC by force and blood. At the same time, in Chernivtsi, UOC defenders will have the upper hand, simply because of the region’s specific nature. This means the confrontation could be even more violent, with a corresponding image for Russian and global media.

We all understand that no such actions are possible without the support (or at least the passive complicity) of local authorities. And if a clash in Chernivtsi does take place, everyone will know who had a hand in it.

Therefore, we urge all those involved to keep a very important and timely thought in mind: “Spring will come soon....”
