Protestant Chaplain Called the Killing of a Monk in Svyatogorsk "Self-Defense"
Protestant chaplain Oleg Lebedinsky called the killing of a monk of the Svyatogorsk Lavra the result of "self-defense" by AFU servicemen. The chaplain wrote about this on the social network Facebook, commenting on a post by "Pervy Kazatsky".
The publication stated that as a result of the attack on the residents of the Svyatogorsk Lavra, one monk was killed and two others were seriously wounded. Lebedinsky openly supported the attackers, declaring that every AFU serviceman is "holier" than the killed monk, whom he called "a draft dodger who was waiting for the arrival of Russian troops."
"I consider the attack on AFU soldiers an attack on me personally. Everyone who opposes the Ukrainian army should be in prison or exchanged for Ukrainian soldiers. Glory to Jesus Christ and the AFU! Every AFU soldier is holier than this draft dodger who was hiding in the monastery and waiting for the rashists," wrote Lebedinsky.
As the UOJ reported, lawyer Robert Amsterdam demanded an independent investigation into the killing of the monk at the Svyatogorsk Lavra. The attack on the monastery in the Donetsk region drew condemnation from representatives of Local Orthodox Churches and other confessions, as well as from the public around the world.
