The entrance campaign has ended at the Kamianets-Podilskyi Icon-Painting School
The admissions committee recommended eight applicants for enrollment in the first year.
The Kamianets-Podilskyi Icon-Painting Theological School named after the Holy Apostle and Evangelist Luke has completed its entrance campaign. Based on the results of the competitive selection, the admissions committee recommended eight applicants for enrollment in the first year.
The theological school held entrance examinations for the new academic year on August 11–12, 2026. Applicants wrote motivational letters, sat creative and oral examinations, and underwent interviews.
Specialists assessed the artistic preparation of the applicants, their basic knowledge of the Orthodox faith, personal motivation, and readiness for four years of study. All examinations began with a joint prayer by the faculty and the applicants.
"For an icon painter, ability is only the beginning," noted the rector, Archpriest Vadim Hadzhaman. "The path ahead requires patience, discipline, ecclesial consciousness, and a sense of responsibility before the holy image. It was precisely this readiness for such a formation that we sought to discern in each applicant." Following the announcement of results, the administration held a parents' meeting at which it presented the principles of the educational process to the students' families.
The theological school operates under the archpastoral care of Metropolitan Feodor of Kamianets-Podilskyi and Horodok. The institution trains future icon painters over the course of four years. Graduates receive the qualification of icon painter and teacher of icon-painting disciplines. The programme combines the study of theological, artistic, and technical subjects, as well as the writing of a diploma icon.
As the SPJ reported, diplomas were presented to graduates of the icon-painting school in Kamianets-Podilskyi.
