The Primate of the UOC held a five-hour spiritual conversation with Metropolitan Grigorije of the Serbian Church.

The Primate of the UOC, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy, met in Kyiv with Metropolitan Grigorije of Düsseldorf and Germany. This was reported by the UOJ in Germany.

The personal meeting between the Primate of the UOC and the Metropolitan of the Serbian Church took place on August 7, 2026, and lasted approximately five hours. The hierarchs held a conversation in an atmosphere of brotherly love, mutual trust, and deep spiritual communion. Metropolitan Grigorije later shared very personal impressions of this conversation.

The hierarch confessed that during the meeting he had the feeling of "confessing his soul to a saint." According to the bishop, it was precisely because of this meeting that his long journey to the Ukrainian capital found its true meaning. "Holy people are truly worth seeking out — even if one must travel the whole world to find them," the bishop said.

Metropolitan Grigorije has headed the Diocese of Düsseldorf since 2018 and is one of the most respected Orthodox hierarchs in Western Europe. His visit to Kyiv once again confirmed the close spiritual bond between the Serbian and Ukrainian Orthodox Churches.

Previously, the UOJ reported that a hierarch of the Serbian Church visited Sumy to support the UOC.
