In Kyiv, TCC officers abducted a monk of the UOC
A hierodeacon of the UOC is being forcibly held at a training center.
In the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, officers of the TCC and police abducted Hierodeacon Gerasim (Kurkchi). This was reported by the Telegram channel "Pershyi Kozatskyi."
On July 8, the monk brought groceries to his mother, but upon leaving the building he was met by law enforcement officers and military commissariat staff. The relatives of Fr. Gerasim declared the detention of the hierodeacon unlawful.
After the abduction, the clergyman was taken from the capital to Bila Tserkva. Soon, contact with him was lost for an extended period of time. Only the following morning did it become known that the hierodeacon had been transferred to the "Desna" training center, where he is currently being held.
The loved ones of Fr. Gerasim called on the faithful for spiritual support, that the Lord might help him, strengthen him, and keep him safe.
As the SPJ reported, the secretary of the Rivne Diocese called on the faithful to protect their priests.
