In Africa, 45 residents of Mozambique have accepted Orthodoxy

Priest Christos Sitoe explained the essence of the Orthodox faith to the new members of the Church.

In the Mozambican village of Chilema, 45 local residents were baptized and became members of the Russian Orthodox Church. This was reported by the African Exarchate of the ROC.

The Sacrament was performed on June 28, 2026, by Priest Christos Sitoe at the parish in honor of the Venerable Mary of Egypt in Niassa Province. On the same day, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the community.

The rector of the Holy Trinity parish in the city of Maputo held a catechetical conversation with the newly baptized. The clergyman explained to the new members of the Church the essence of the Orthodox sacraments and the fundamentals of Holy Scripture.

As the UOJ reported, more than 100 people accepted Orthodoxy in a ROCOR parish in Hawaii.
