The Minister of Culture of Ukraine called the restoration of Ukrainian cultural heritage a shared responsibility of the state, business, and society.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has directed funds from the reserve fund for the repair of facilities at the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra that were damaged as a result of shelling. The amount of damage from the strike on the territory of the reserve has already exceeded 500 million hryvnias. This was reported by Ukraine's Minister of Culture Tetiana Berezhna on Facebook.

Specialists recorded damage to the Assumption Cathedral and 18 other museum and cultural facilities on the territory of the Lavra. The government promptly approved the allocation of funds for restoration work, which has already begun. The Ministry of Culture emphasized that the restoration of this UNESCO World Heritage shrine is a shared task of the state, business, and society.

Ukrainian businesses have already joined the state aid effort. PrivatBank and the Naftogaz Group confirmed their financing of repair work at the Lavra. PrivatBank also opened a separate charitable fundraiser so that anyone willing can donate funds for the restoration of the cathedral.

As reported by SPZh, the Greek Ministry of Culture will finance the restoration of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra.
