Ruslan Martsinkiv called the propaganda of refusing to have children and the substitution of the concept of family a threat to the nation's survival amid war and a demographic crisis.

Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk Ruslan Martsinkiv, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine, stated that the LGBT movement and the "childfree" ideology are causing harm to the Ukrainian state. According to the mayor, the promotion of such views during martial law leads to critical depopulation and hinders the preservation of the nation.

Martsinkiv emphasized that his criticism is directed not at specific members of these communities, but at the belief system itself. "We are not talking about a specific group of people," he noted. "We are talking about an ideology in which the concept of family is substituted and which does not lead to the birth of children or to a reduction in depopulation."

The city's head is convinced that state institutions should focus on protecting traditional values and stimulating the birth rate. The mayor considers the sharp drop in the number of newborns, both in frontline and rear communities, to be the main threat to the country's future.

He explained that in wartime conditions, movements such as "childfree," in which people consciously refuse parenthood, should not be actively promoted in the media space. Martsinkiv believes that the very survival of the state is now at stake, and therefore depopulation must not reach an irreversible point.

Regarding public events, the mayor spoke cautiously, proposing to limit their media coverage. "This is an element that, it seems to me, could be less popularized during martial law," Ruslan Martsinkiv concluded.

As reported by SPZh, Stefanchuk promised LGBT members to take their rights into account in the new Civil Code.
