A UOC priest was injured in a drone strike in Belopolye
Priest Maxim Andrukhov received shrapnel wounds to his hand, head and leg, his mother Valentina was also injured.
On June 11, 2026, in the city of Belopolye in the Sumy Diocese, priest Maxim Andrukhov was injured as a result of a Russian drone strike, - reports the diocesan press service of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
The drone attack occurred when Father Maxim was traveling on a motorcycle through Belopolye in the Sumy district. As a result of the explosion, the priest received shrapnel wounds to his arm, head and leg. His mother Valentina was also injured – medics provided her with necessary assistance and stitched her wounds.
Priest Maxim was hospitalized: doctors performed the necessary procedures, extracted the shrapnel and applied bandages. The priest is now at home. According to relatives, his condition is stable and the most difficult period has passed. The Sumy Diocese asks the faithful to pray for the healing of priest Maxim and God's servant Valentina.
As SPJ reported earlier, a priest of the Pokrovsk Vicariate of the UOC died in Konstantinovka.
