Metropolitan Longin thanked Groza for choosing a UOC church for the baptism
Archbishop of the UOC addressed the artist with words of support, reminding that the question of faith is a personal choice of each person.
Metropolitan Longin (Zhar) of Bancheny expressed deep gratitude to singer Alina Grosu for her decision to receive the sacrament of baptism in the bosom of the canonical Orthodox Church. This is reported by Bancheny Monastery on Facebook.
According to the hierarch, this choice testifies to the firmness of the performer's spiritual convictions. "Alinochka (Grosu), I thank you for choosing the canonical Orthodox Church," the bishop emphasized.
In his address, the metropolitan reminded that the question of faith is a personal and conscious path for each person. "Everyone has the right to their own confession," he noted.
The bishop wished the artist Divine help in maintaining faithfulness to spiritual traditions: "May the Lord strengthen you henceforth, so that you may firmly hold to the true Orthodox faith, and grant peace, joy and His blessing for many years."
As SPJ reported, singer Alina Grosu was attacked online for choosing a UOC church for baptism. Chief editor of LB.ua publication Sonya Koshkina criticized the artist and the godmother of the baptized person, also being outraged that the sacrament was performed by Metropolitan Meletius of Chernivtsi and Bukovina.
