Despite his illnesses, Protodeacon Nikolai Mazurets was processed through the military medical commission at the TCC and sent to a military unit.

On June 6, 2026, in Odessa, TCC employees took away a cleric of the Trinity Cathedral of the UOC, Protodeacon Nikolai Mazurets. The Union of Orthodox Journalists was informed about this by Father Nikolai's relatives. According to his matushka, he has been diagnosed with a number of diseases, particularly myopia and spinal problems, confirmed by medical documents.

Despite this, the Military Medical Commission recognized the protodeacon as fit for military service. On the day of detention, he was sent to Vinnytsia region, and on June 7 he made contact for the first time and reported that he was being sent to serve in Mykolaiv region. Father Nikolai's relatives ask for prayers.

Earlier, the Union of Orthodox Journalists wrote that TCC kidnapped the rector of a UOC church in Osmigovichi.
