Thousands march in UK against Islamization of the country
Participants in the Unite the Kingdom rally marched from Holborn to Parliament Square and voiced demands on migration, free speech, and border protection.
Britain became the site of a large-scale Unite the Kingdom rally, which took place on Saturday, May 16, in central London. This was reported by the civic organization Vsi Razom.
Participants marched in a column from Holborn to Parliament Square, carrying British flags and placards. Reports on the turnout gave differing estimates: police spoke of around 60,000 participants, while some media and attendees cited significantly higher figures, up to millions. Among the main themes of the rally were illegal migration, border control, freedom of speech, and demands for political accountability from the government.
Special attention at the march was given to Christian symbolism. Before the rally, its organizer Tommy Robinson posted the Lord’s Prayer on X, and during the procession participants recited it together in the square. The crowd also chanted “Christ is King,” and participants carried large wooden crosses.
As previously reported by the UOJ, in southern England people were banned from crossing themselves and reading the Gospel near abortion clinics. Against this backdrop, religious rhetoric at public rallies in Britain remains part of a broader debate over the place of Christian tradition in the country’s public and political life.
