Memorial plaque to Filaret Denysenko installed in Kharkiv
OCU supporters held an event at the memorial plaque honoring Filaret on the 40th day after his death.
On April 28, 2026, representatives of the OCU held an event in Kharkiv near a memorial plaque to Filaret Denysenko. The ceremony was timed to the 40th day after the death of the head of the UOC-KP and was led by OCU cleric Viktor Marynchak.
During his speech, Marynchak called Denysenko an “outstanding church figure” and said he had played a key role in obtaining the Tomos.
According to the OCU representative, the installation of the country’s first memorial plaque in honor of Denysenko was an expression of gratitude from the local community. Participants prayed for the repose of Denysenko’s soul, while ignoring the fact that for many years he had remained outside their own structure.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that a village near Kyiv named a street after Filaret Denysenko.
