UOC Orthodox youth hold regional gathering in Germany
In Bremen, representatives of the Western European Vicariate from several European countries came together for prayer and networking within the diaspora.
From March 13 to 15, 2026, the German city of Bremen hosted a regional gathering of Ukrainian Orthodox youth organized with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, according to the official website of the UOC Department for External Church Relations.
Young faithful from Germany, Ireland, Belgium, and Bulgaria took part in the event. The program included educational lectures, meetings with clergy of the Western European Vicariate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and recreational activities. Gatherings like these help young people living abroad maintain a living connection with their home Church and grow stronger in the faith.
On Saturday, participants celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the UOC parish in Bremen. The service was held at the Church of St. Willehad, the first Bishop of Bremen, and All Saints. The shared prayer brought together young people from different European countries around Christ’s chalice, underscoring the unity of the canonical Church under the omophorion of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry.
At the close of the gathering, participants thanked Archpriest Nikolai Poplentany, rector of the Bremen parish, and the parish clergy for their help in organizing the event. The youth also expressed special gratitude to the parishioners for their generous support and hospitality.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that a UOC community in Brussels had celebrated the feast day of the Synaxis of the Saints of the Kyiv Caves.
