In Uganda, a 62-year-old man stabbed his adult son who left Islam and embraced Christianity; the victim is survived by four young children.

On January 28, 2026, a 33-year-old man who had converted to Christianity was killed in eastern Uganda. According to sources, he suffered a fatal wound inflicted by his own father. This was reported by Morning Star News.

According to the outlet, the father attacked his son with a machete after they shared dinner at the family home. Relatives attempted to take the wounded man to a hospital, but doctors pronounced him dead.

The victim’s wife said the conflict was caused by the family’s conversion from Islam to Christianity. She stated that relatives had previously made threats and demanded that they renounce the Christian faith.

The murdered man is survived by four children. At the time of publication, Morning Star News reported that no official police investigation had been carried out.

The outlet notes that this is one of many cases of persecution of Christians in the region, despite the country’s legally guaranteed freedom of religion.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that police officers beat a Roman Catholic priest in Sri Lanka.
