Priests and laity of Rivne Eparchy donate blood for children with cancer
In Rivne, the UOC clergy and laity have donated blood for children undergoing treatment for cancer.
The Rivne Eparchy of the UOC, with the participation of the clergy and laity, held a charitable blood donation event in Rivne. According to the eparchy's press service, the event took place with the blessing of Metropolitan Pimen of Rivne and Ostroh at the regional blood transfusion center.
About 50 clerics and parishioners donated blood for children undergoing treatment in the onco-hematology department.
According to the head of the Social Department, Archpriest Petro Peretiatko, the participation of the clergy in such events has become an annual tradition of the eparchy. He noted that blood donation is a manifestation of active Christian mercy and a testimony of living faith.
The archpriest emphasized that over the past ten years, holding such events has become an important part of the eparchy’s social work.
“The Rivne Eparchy sincerely thanks everyone who joined this noble cause. May the Lord reward each person for their selflessness, and may the donated blood bring healing and hope to the children and their families. We pray for the health of the sick and for all those who fight daily for the lives of children,” the statement says.
As previously reported, the St. Sergius parish in Korets raised 21,000 hryvnias for children with cancer.
