Bishop of Bishkek on Muslims: We believe in one God

The Bishop of Bishkek and Kyrgyzstan, Savvaty, said that he and the mufti serve God and the people of Kyrgyzstan together.
The ROC hierarch, Bishop Savvaty of Bishkek and Kyrgyzstan, in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta, said that Orthodox Christians and Muslims believe in one God.
“I read the Quran and the New Testament at about the same time. I can’t say I know the surahs and ayahs by heart, but I understand the general meaning. We believe in one God. The mufti and I have the same goal – to serve God and the people of Kyrgyzstan,” said Bishop Savvaty.
In addition, the ROC hierarch said that his diocese has established friendly relations with the Spiritual Administration of Muslims.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that ROC priest Andrei Tkachev urged Russians to take the example of Russian Muslims in war.
