Altar consecrated in the church of Veliatyno village, Zakarpattia
In the village of Veliatyno, Metropolitan Mark of Khust and Vynohradiv consecrated the altar of the Church of the Prophet Elijah.
On February 8, 2026, on the Sunday of the Prodigal Son, Metropolitan Mark performed the rite of consecration of the altar and presided over the festive Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Prophet Elijah in the village of Veliatyno, Zakarpattia. This was reported later that day by the press service of the Khust Eparchy.
The service was also attended by the vicar of the Khust Eparchy, Archbishop Simeon, together with clergy of the eparchy.
During the Divine Liturgy, special petitions were offered for peace in Ukraine, for her people, and for the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At the conclusion of the service, the ruling hierarch congratulated the rector and parishioners on this significant event in the life of the community, emphasizing its importance for the parish’s spiritual strengthening.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that a church in honor of Prince Volodymyr was consecrated in the Bila Tserkva Eparchy of the UOC.
