Kherson Holy Spirit Cathedral of UOC shelled again
Shells damaged the church roof, the bell tower and the chapel. The eparchial administration buildings also suffered from shelling.
The Holy Spirit Cathedral of Kherson was seriously damaged as a result of Russian shelling on the evening of February 7, 2026. This is reported by the UOC Information and Educational Department, citing the press service of the Kherson Eparchy.
One of the shells hit the roof of the cathedral, the second exploded on the grounds. As a result, the bell tower and the Chapel of the "Life-Giving Spring" Icon of the Mother of God were damaged, and windows of the eparchial administration and utility buildings were blown out.
As the UOJ reported, Kherson churches have previously suffered from Russian military shelling. The Holy Spirit Cathedral is one of the key spiritual centers of the Kherson Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC).
