Pilgrims of Chernivtsi–Bukovyna Eparchy meet with Patriarch Theophilos
Faithful of the UOC, during a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, met with the Patriarch of Jerusalem.
A group of pilgrims of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church traveling through the Holy Land met with His Beatitude Theophilos III, Patriarch of the Holy City of Jerusalem. The meeting was reported on the Facebook page of faithful of the Chernivtsi–Bukovyna Eparchy.
The delegation included Orthodox believers from Bukovyna, led by Archpriest Andriy Serman, head of the eparchy’s pilgrimage department.
The pilgrims visited churches and holy sites throughout the Holy Land.
A special highlight for the participants was their meeting with the Primate of the Jerusalem Church. With reverence, the pilgrims received Patriarch Theophilos’ blessing as spiritual strengthening and a gracious support on the path of prayer and veneration of the holy shrines.
During their stay in the Holy Land, the faithful are visiting places sanctified by the earthly life, suffering, and Resurrection of the Savior, as well as by His Most Pure Mother and the holy apostles. They are offering prayers for peace on Ukrainian soil, for the Church, for the defending warriors, for their families, and for all the Orthodox people.
As the UOJ reported, Patriarch Theophilos called on diplomats to protect the rights of Christians in the Holy Land.
