UOC eparchy reports clergy mobilized and missing in Volhynia
The faithful are being urged to intensify their prayers for clergy of the Volodymyr-Volynskyi Eparchy who have gone missing or are serving in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Volodymyr-Volynskyi Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has released information about clergymen who have been mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as clergy listed as missing. The eparchy’s press service reported this.
According to the eparchy, those currently serving include Mitred Archpriest Petro Cholak, Mitred Archpriest Bohdan Hnatiuk, Mitred Archpriest Petro Rud, Mitred Archpriest Serhii Saviievskyi, and Archpriest Vitalii Tsumyk.
Those listed as missing are Mitred Archpriest Yurii Khavura and Archpriest Andrii Olasiuk.
The eparchy also reported the death of Deacon Mykola Matviienko.
The Volodymyr-Volynskyi Eparchy is calling on UOC clergy and faithful to pray with special intensity for all clergymen serving in the military, for those missing, and for the repose of the departed cleric.
As the UOJ previously reported, on January 14, 2026, in Volodymyr, unknown individuals who introduced themselves as law-enforcement officers beat and abducted an altar server of the UOC’s Holy Dormition Cathedral. On 23 January, Archpriest Vitalii Chaban was mobilized directly while undergoing inpatient treatment.
Metropolitan Volodymyr of Volodymyr-Volynskyi and Kovel appealed to the leadership of the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police in Volhynia Region in connection with violence and pressure against UOC clergy and faithful in the area.
