A priest of the Sumy Eparchy, Archpriest Oleksandr Petrenko, received gratitude from the territorial defense command for assistance to military personnel.

The head of the spiritual rehabilitation center for warriors of the Sumy Eparchy of the UOC, Archpriest Oleksandr Petrenko, received gratitude from the territorial defense command for supporting the country's defenders. This is reported by the press service of the Sumy Eparchy.

The priest, who heads the Center for Spiritual Rehabilitation of Warriors and Civilians of the Sumy Eparchy, was awarded for his significant contribution to supporting servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and territorial defense forces.

In the document, the military noted his "compassion, sincere desire to help others without expecting gratitude or rewards."

The gratitude was signed by the commander of volunteer formation No. 2 of the Sumy city territorial community, Viktor Puris.

As the UOJ reported, in 2025, clergy of the Sumy Eparchy evacuated 78 civilians from frontline settlements of the region, for many of whom this became the only chance to escape from combat operations.
