According to the BOC head, during the visit to the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the Ukrainian issue was considered with respect for the position of the Bulgarian Church.

The Primate of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Daniil in an interview with the program "Panorama" on national television noted that during his visit to Istanbul, the Ukrainian issue was a topic of discussion with the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.

According to Patriarch Daniil, no pressure was exerted on the Bulgarian side to recognize or formally adopt a position on the issue of the OCU.

"Controversial issues, such as the status of the Ukrainian Church, were discussed with respect for the position of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church," the BOC press service cites the Primate.

The Patriarch also expressed hope that the Church will provide a conciliar response to all unresolved issues in the future.

As reported by the UOJ, earlier Patriarch Daniil stated that the position on the OCU remains unchanged. "The Bulgarian Orthodox Church has not recognized the OCU and does not mention it in the diptychs," emphasized Patriarch Daniil.
