Long-serving protodeacon of the Khust Eparchy reposes in the Lord
Protodeacon Georgiy Petrovtsy has reposed in the Lord.
At the age of 71, the long-serving protodeacon of the Khust Eparchy of the UOC Georgiy Petrovtsy has passed away, as reported by the eparchy's press service on January 6, 2026.
"For many years, Father Deacon zealously served the Church of Christ, fulfilling his ecclesiastical obedience at archbishop services with love and faithfulness, setting an example of humility, devotion, and pastoral sacrifice," the message states.
The clergy and faithful of the Khust Eparchy pray for the repose of his immortal soul and express sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
"Eternal memory to the newly departed servant of God, Protodeacon Georgiy," the eparchy wrote.
As reported by the UOJ, a priest of the UOC was killed by a drone strike in the Kherson Eparchy.
