Menorah toppled in Chernihiv, antisemitic graffiti left behind
Chernihiv police are searching for those responsible for toppling a menorah.
On the night of December 22, unknown individuals toppled a Jewish menorah in the center of Chernihiv and left inscriptions “calling for violations of equality among citizens,” according to the local police.
As the press service reported, “an investigative and operational team of the Chernihiv District Police Department is working at the scene, and the legal qualification of the incident is being determined.”
The Israeli outlet ynetnews claims that the perpetrators left the inscription “This is not our culture” and, using obscene language, demanded that Jews leave.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that in the Cabinet of Ministers the prime minister lit a menorah together with rabbis.
