Orthodox Church of Moldova tops citizens' trust rating
According to an IMAS survey, 61% of citizens trust the Church, which significantly exceeds the level of trust in the president, government, and parliament of Moldova.
On December 10, 2025, the results of a sociological survey were published, according to which the Orthodox Church of Moldova ranked first in terms of public trust among the country's institutions. The study was conducted by the sociological company IMAS.
According to the survey data, conducted from November 18 to December 4, 2025, 61% of the republic's residents trust the Orthodox Church of Moldova. This figure is the highest among all state and public structures.
In second place in terms of trust are educational institutions – kindergartens, schools, and universities, trusted by 53% of respondents. They are followed by local public authorities with a rate of 39%.
The institution of the president, currently headed by Maia Sandu, is trusted by 28% of respondents. The level of trust in the government is 20%, and in the parliament – 18%.
The lowest trust levels are recorded for the media and the judicial system: the media is trusted by 16% of citizens, and only 12% of respondents trust the Moldovan justice system.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that in Moldova, parishioners defending a church from being transferred to the Romanian Church are on trial.
