A drone blast wave damaged a unique 18th-century wooden church built without a single nail
On December 6, 2025, in Novhorod-Siverskyi, Chernihiv region, the 18th-century St. Nicholas Church was damaged as a result of an enemy drone attack. This was reported by the press service of the Chernihiv Eparchy.
According to the eparchy, the blast wave damaged the church walls, blew out the windows, and one of the fragments shattered the tabernacle.
It is noted that the St. Nicholas Church is a unique example of 18th-century wooden architecture. The shrine was built in 1764 without the use of nails, making it a particularly valuable monument of church architecture.
The clergy emphasize that the damage to such a historic church is a significant loss for the community and the cultural heritage of the region.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that a UOC priest was injured during the shelling of Ternivka in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
