UOC holds charity meal for the needy in Kyiv
UOC volunteers provided hot meals to about 200 people and delivered 100 aid packages to displaced families, continuing the Church’s outreach program.
On November 28–29, 2025, staff and volunteers of the UOC Synodal Department for Social and Humanitarian Issues organized a series of assistance events for the homeless, displaced persons, and low-income residents of Kyiv. This was reported in the official Telegram channel of the Synodal Department.
On November 28, a weekly charity distribution of hot meals took place near Kyiv’s central railway station. About 200 people – the homeless, pensioners, persons with disabilities, internally displaced persons, and low-income families – received lunch and had the opportunity to speak with volunteers. Organizers note that for many, this meeting becomes an important form of support.
The next day, staff of the Social Department delivered 100 food packages to families of displaced persons. The distribution was held on the premises of the Center for Social and Humanitarian Assistance with the support of the Primate’s Charitable Foundation “Peace Be Unto You.”
The packages included canned meat, grains and pasta, vegetable oil, sugar, tea, and hygiene supplies. According to recipients, this assistance helps them cope with everyday difficulties and feel the care of the Church and compassionate people.
The Social Department noted that since the beginning of the year, 4,060 food packages have already been distributed to displaced families. Those wishing to contribute to the charity efforts may make donations using the banking details provided by the UOC.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that 20 tons of humanitarian aid from the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy of the UOC were delivered to the Holy Dormition Sviatohirsk Lavra.
