Romanian Patriarchate launches a Christian educational youth center
The Romanian Patriarchate has announced the creation of a major new center dedicated to youth education and support, combining the country’s Christian heritage with modern educational methods.
On November 20, 20225, Patriarch Daniel of the Romanian Orthodox Church officially inaugurated the project of a Christian educational youth center – the National Center dedicated to Saint Elijah the Tishbite – during an event at the Patriarchal Palace. The launch was reported by the official website of the Romanian Patriarchate.
The new center will become a large educational and social complex financed with the support of European funds. According to Patriarch Daniel, the project aims to unite the efforts of the Church, the family, and the school by providing children and teenagers with a space for learning, cultural development, fellowship, and spiritual growth.
In his address, the Patriarch emphasized that today’s social challenges – migration, school dropouts, family crises, and the rise of various dependencies among young people – require closer cooperation between the Church and educational institutions. He noted that the Church has supported child-assistance programs for decades and is now taking “the next step” by establishing a center of national significance.
The complex will occupy ten hectares and will include dormitories, a library, a conference center, classrooms for art and music education, scientific laboratories, theater and craft workshops, sports grounds, and recreational areas. The center will allow youth groups from across the country to participate in educational, spiritual, and cultural programs.
The Romanian Patriarchate expressed hope that the new center will become a place where young people from all social backgrounds can feel the Church’s support, discover their talents, and receive an education rooted in Christian values and the living tradition of the Romanian Orthodox Church.
