ROC Synod thanks Orban for blocking EU sanctions against Patriarch

The Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church has expressed gratitude to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban for for blocking EU sanctions against Patriarch Kirill.
At a regular meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church chaired by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia on 7 June 2022, the ROC officially thanked Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
"The Synod expressed gratitude to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban for his firm stance on the inadmissibility of placing Holy Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia on the EU sanctions list," says the Synod journal.
As reported, the EU did not impose sanctions against Patriarch Kirill.
