White House Press Secretary says if Third Temple in Jerusalem to be restored
The Press Secretary responded to a question from a Hasidic journalist about plans to build a shrine on the Temple Mount.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt at a press conference stated that the issue of rebuilding the Third Temple in Jerusalem is not being discussed in the administration of the USA president. This question was posed at the briefing by Hasidic journalist Jake Turx.
"Has to your knowledge the subject of rebuilding the Holy Temple in Jerusalem come up?" asked Turx, noting that the current president "is likely going to go down as the greatest builder of this era".
"No, it has not," the Administration representative replied unequivocally.
Reference: The Third Temple is a religious concept in Judaism about the restoration of the main sanctuary on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. The Second Temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD. Currently, Muslim shrines – the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock – are located on this site, making the topic extremely sensitive in the context of the Middle Eastern conflict.
