Court hearing on termination of contract with Lavra to be held on October 20

On Monday, October 20, 2025, a court hearing will be held at the Northern Commercial Court of Appeal in Kyiv (1-a Sholudenko St.) regarding the termination of the lease agreement for the Lower Lavra, as reported by the lawyer of the Kyiv-Pechersk Monastery, Archpriest Nikita Chekman, on his Telegram channel.
The lawyer reminded that earlier the court had suspended the proceedings until the completion of the case review regarding the appeal of the President's Decree from 01.12.2022, which became the basis for the actions of state bodies interfering in the activities of religious organizations.
"The Cassation Commercial Court, as part of the Supreme Court, ruled to refer the case on invalidating the unilateral termination of the contract back to the appellate instance for further consideration," said Archpriest Nikita.
