In 2024, the figure reached a record level – 2021 marriages between Ukrainian women and Polish men.

On October 16, 2025, the resource UA.News reported that a record number of marriages between Ukrainian women and local residents have been recorded in Poland. In recent years, the number of such unions has significantly increased, which experts attribute to the long-term residence of Ukrainian women abroad and the processes of integration into Polish society.

According to data from the Central Statistical Office of Poland (GUS), in 2024, 5,359 marriages involving Ukrainian citizens were registered in the country, of which 2,556 were unions between Ukrainians and Poles. The overwhelming majority – 2,021 cases – is marriages between Polish men and Ukrainian women, while in 535 cases, Polish women married Ukrainian men.

For comparison: in 2023, there were 2,213 such marriages, and in 2015 – only 715. According to analysts, the increase in the number of international unions is explained by the fact that many Ukrainians living in Poland for several years strive to legalize relationships that began during emigration.

Meanwhile, the demographic situation in Ukraine remains critical. According to the State Statistics Service, in 2024, the number of deaths (495.1 thousand) was three times the number of new-borns (176.1 thousand).

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the former Minister of Economy of Ukraine reported a critical demographic situation.
