UOC lawyer Archpriest Nikita Chekman has called for prayers for the parish community.

Tomorrow, October 10, 2025, at 6 a.m., a forcible eviction of the parish of the Assumption Cathedral of the Volodymyr–Volynsky Eparchy of the UOC in Volodymyr is scheduled to take place. This was reported by the parish’s lawyer, Archpriest Nikita Chekman, on his Telegram channel.

The attorney stated that he had received official documents from the state enforcement officer outlining the plan of action.

“These actions and the orders of the state enforcement officer already involve representatives of the National Police. Officials from the enforcement service have also been assigned to document the process,” he said.

Archpriest Nikita called on the faithful to offer prayers for Metropolitan Volodymyr of Volodymyr–Volynsky and Kovel and for the parishioners of the cathedral.

Earlier, Metropolitan Volodymyr of Volodymyr–Volynsky and Kovel had appealed to the clergy, monastics, and faithful of his eparchy to pray in light of the possible loss of the Assumption Cathedral and the theological school attached to it in the city of Volodymyr, Volyn region.
