In Zastavna, 300 believers of UOC celebrate patronal feast in house church

The faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church maintain unity and continue their liturgical life despite persecution.
The persecuted religious community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in Zastavna, Chernivtsi region, celebrated the patronal feast in a house church. This was reported on their Facebook page by the faithful of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy.
About 300 believers gathered for the feast. Since everyone could not fit into the small space, most people prayed in the yard.
“The atmosphere was such that everyone felt the maternal love and protection of the Most Holy Theotokos. Although the photos arrived late, we still want to share this joy: in the town of Zastavna there are faithful of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church who preserve unity and continue the Gospel ministry and preaching,” the message states.
Earlier, the UOJ published shocking footage where a cleric of the OCU, leading an aggressive crowd, personally breaks down the gate of the fence and then the doors of the Nativity of the Theotokos church. The seizure of the UOC church in the city of Zastavna took place on May 16, 2025.
