Trump criticizes Mayor of London for introducing sharia law
Europe is in serious trouble, believes the American president.
On September 23, 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump, during his address at the United Nations General Assembly, criticized Europe's migration policy, accusing the Muslim Mayor of London of introducing sharia law.
Trump called on world leaders to "protect their citizens" and warned that uncontrolled immigration threatens the security and cultural identity of countries.
"Europe is in serious trouble. They’ve been invaded by a force of illegal aliens like nobody’s ever seen before. Illegal aliens are pouring into Europe. … Nobody’s doing anything to change it, to get them out. It’s not sustainable, and because they choose to be politically correct, they’re doing just absolutely nothing about it," said the American president.
Trump paid special attention to the United Kingdom, criticizing the mayor of London.
"I look at London, where you have a terrible mayor, terrible, terrible mayor, and it's been changed, it's been so changed. Now they want to go to sharia law. But you are in a different country, you can't do that," he addressed Mayor Sadiq Khan, a Muslim of Pakistani origin.
Sadiq Khan, in turn, called Trump's statement "racist, sexist, Islamophobic," and then stated that he would not "dignify it with a response".
As reported by the UOJ, earlier British Justice Minister Sarah Sackman called sharia courts a part of religious tolerance, which she described as an important British value.
