Almost 40,000 Hasidim arrive in Uman, National Police

Order in the city is maintained by operatives, patrol police, dialogue police, special purpose police battalions, dog handlers, bomb technicians, SES rescuers, and the National Guard.
As of September 23, 2025, almost 40,000 Hasidim arrived in Uman for the celebration of the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah), among whom 38,000 are foreigners as reported by the National Police of Ukraine.
The head of the National Police, Ivan Vyhovskyi, stated that a joint unit of various services is operating in the city: operatives, investigators, patrol police, dialogue police, special purpose police battalion, dog handlers, bomb technicians, rescuers of the State Emergency Service, National Guard, and others.
According to him, the main task of all services is the protection of public order, as well as the prevention of criminal and administrative offenses.
At the entrances to the pilgrimage area, a checkpoint regime is in place - police officers check individuals and vehicles. The streets of the city are patrolled by foot and vehicle police crews.
Israeli police officers also arrived in Uman.
As reported by the UOJ, Zelensky congratulated the Jews on Rosh Hashanah.
