Court hearings in Metropolitan Arseniy case postponed to end of September

On September 18, the issue of the judge’s recusal will be considered; on the 25th, the lawyers’ complaint against the decision to extend the pretrial detention of the bishop will be reviewed.
On September 11, 2025, two court hearings were scheduled in the case of Metropolitan Arseniy of Sviatohirsk. This was reported by the press service of the Sviatohirsk Lavra.
The session of the Dnipro Appellate Court, where the complaint of the lawyers of Metropolitan Arseniy of Sviatohirsk against the decision of the Sloviansk City District Court of August 1 to extend the detention of the bishop until September 29 inclusive was to be considered, did not take place.
Due to the announcement of an air raid alert, the consideration of the complaint was postponed to September 25. The session will begin at 10:00.
On this day, the Sloviansk City District Court began to consider the lawyers' motion for the recusal of the presiding judge. A decision has not yet been made. The hearing is to continue on September 18 at 9:20.
Bishop Arseniy has been in the Dnipro pre-trial detention center since April 25, 2024.
As reported by the UOJ, on September 10, in the case of Metropolitan Arseniy, the lawyers filed a motion for the judge's recusal.
