His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry officiates patronal feast in Khotiv

On the feast day of St. Alexander Nevsky, the Primate of the UOC celebrated the Liturgy and addressed the faithful with a sermon on peace.
On September 12, 2025, the feast of the Translation of the Relics of the Holy Right-Believing Prince Alexander Nevsky, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Church of St. Alexander Nevsky in the village of Khotiv, Kyiv region, the UOC Information and Education Department reports.
Concelebrating with the Primate were Archbishop Kassian of Ivankiv, Archbishop Lavr of Irpin, Archbishop Mark of Borodianka, the parish clergy, and visiting priests. During the Little Entrance, Metropolitan Onuphry awarded the rector of the church, Archpriest Pavlo Zhyvylо, the right to wear the mitre.
After the reading of the Gospel, the Primate addressed the faithful with a homily. During the service, prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine, for help to those who suffer, for the strengthening of soldiers, for the release of prisoners, and for the consolation of all who have lost their homes.
The Liturgy concluded with a molieben and glorification before the icon of St. Alexander Nevsky. His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry congratulated the faithful on the feast and bestowed his blessing upon the congregation.
Earlier, the UOJ quoted Metropolitan Onuphry as saying that the most important thing we must achieve in life is love.
