TRC detains 58-year-old UOC priest in Bukovyna

For several days, the clergyman has been driven around military units.
In Bukovyna, employees of the Military Commissariat (TRC) detained Archpriest Nikolai Hubka, rector of St. Nicholas parish in the village of Maliatyntsi, Kitsman district of the Chernivtsi eparchy. This was reported on the Facebook page Faithful of the Chernivtsi–Bukovyna Eparchy of the UOC.
The post states that the priest has already been transported around Ukraine for several days. Apparently, none of the commanders are eager to accept into their unit a man of his age who also holds priestly rank.
Fr. Nikolai is the rector of a persecuted UOC community. In March 2025, raiders from the OCU seized the parishioners’ church, but they began holding services outdoors and later started building a temporary structure for worship. The faithful are now asking for prayers for their pastor. The parish has been left without its rector.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the TRC had abducted a UOC bishop.
