UOC Primate leads Liturgy at Holosiivo Monastery in Kyiv
His Beatitude Onuphry blessed the Orthodox youth for their studies.
On August 31, 2025, the Primate of the UOC, His Beatitude Onuphry, led the Liturgy at the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God "Life-Giving Spring" of the Intercession Holosiivo Monastery in Kyiv. The service was dedicated to the beginning of the new academic year in theological educational institutions.
The Primate was concelebrated by: the head of the UOC DECR, Metropolitan Meletiy of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna, the Chancellor Metropolitan Antoniy, Metropolitan Clement of Nizhyn and Pryluky, Metropolitan Varsonofiy of Vinnytsia, Metropolitan Serhiy of Tulchyn and Bratslav, Archbishop Damian of Fastiv, Archbishop Isaakiy of Vorzel, KDAiS Rector Archbishop Sylvester of Bilohorodka, Archbishop Ambrosiy of Zghurivka, Archbishop Mark of Borodianka, Bishop Panteleimon of Baturyn, Bishop Filaret of Baryshivka, KDAiS reachers in holy orders, and the clergy of the monastery.
Students of the institutions operating on the territory of the Holosiivo Monastery - the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary and the Monastic Spiritual and Vocational School of St. John of Damascus - prayed during the service.
After the liturgy, His Beatitude sprinkled the youth with holy water and blessed them for their studies.
As reported, in a sermon on the Feast of Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos, His Beatitude emphasized that the Theotokos's prayers are the strongest in the spiritual world.
