Dumenko, Trump’s spiritual advisor discuss Ukraine’s religious situation
The participants of the meeting reflected on how to compel Russia to end its criminal aggression.
On August 26, 2025, the head of the OCU, S. Dumenko, received in his residence Pastor Mark Burns, whom Ukraine’s Chief Rabbi Asman calls “Trump’s spiritual advisor.”
The meeting was also attended by Vlado Gerchev, a member of parliament from North Macedonia, and former Ukrainian MP Pavlo Unguryan.
According to the OCU press service, Dumenko and Burns “shared their vision of the religious situation and interchurch relations in Ukraine and the world.”
Dumenko told the pastor that “it is necessary to use different means to force Russia to end its criminal assault on Ukraine and to achieve a just peace.”
At the end of the meeting, Dumenko presented Burns with a table cross.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Zelensky awarded Burns an order.
