OCA Primate congratulates His Beatitude on anniversary of his enthronement
Greetings continue to arrive for the Primate of the UOC on the anniversary of his primacy.
On the occasion of the 11th anniversary of his enthronement, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine received congratulations from His Beatitude Tikhon, Archbishop of Washington, Metropolitan of All America and Canada. This was reported by the Information and Education Department of the UOC.
“The holy apostle Paul commands the faithful to love one another with brotherly affection, and the holy apostle Peter commands us to have fervent charity and unfailing love among ourselves (Rom. 12:10; 1 Pet. 4:8). With this love, charity, and affection, I greet you, my brother, on this anniversary, and I reassure you of my unflagging and indefatigable support for Your Beatitude in your primatial ministry as well as my prayers and support for the entire long-suffering Ukrainian Orthodox Church and all the people of Ukraine. I reiterate the love of the clergy and faithful of the Orthodox Church in America for their Ukrainian brethren,” the greeting reads.
The Primate of the Orthodox Church in America once again assured Metropolitan Onuphry of the love of clergy and believers for their Ukrainian brethren.
He also reminded that in another of his letters, the holy Apostle Paul wrote that Christians are afflicted on every side but not crushed (2 Cor. 4:8–9). “The Lord has called you and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to share in his sufferings, and as you bear this cross, I pray that you would continue to find strength in Christ’s Passion, which he suffered in the flesh for the salvation of all,” His Beatitude Tikhon added.
His Beatitude wished Metropolitan Onuphry many blessed years.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Primate of the Czech Church had congratulated His Beatitude on the anniversary of his primacy.
