On August 14, 2025, footage of the empty Dormition Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra during the all-night vigil of the OCU on the eve of the Dormition (new style) — the patronal feast of the monastery — was shown online. The Telegram channel "Fortress Lavra" published photos and videos showing that about ten people were in the church. Some of them were employees of the TV channel broadcasting the service. Others, judging by their clothing, were visitors to the reserve who entered the cathedral to see the sights.

The video footage captured the polyeleos — the central part of the all-night vigil, when the church is usually especially crowded. But apart from the "OCU Lavra abbot" Lotysh and a few of his colleagues, there was no one else in the center of the cathedral.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that in 2023, the UOJ published photos and videos of the OCU all-night vigil in the Refectory Church of the Lavra, attended by 4 people.
