The investigation was conducted by the Main Directorate for the Investigation of Crimes Against the State, the Foundations of the Constitutional Order, and Public Security.

The Armenian Investigative Committee has completed its preliminary investigation into the case of Archbishop Bagrat, the arrested leader of the “Sacred Struggle” movement, and his supporters. Case materials have been submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office for referral to court, according to the Investigative Committee’s press service.

Reportedly, the investigation was carried out by the Main Directorate for the Investigation of Crimes Against the State, the Foundations of the Constitutional Order, and Public Security.

The case involves a group of 18 individuals, including the hierarch of the Armenian Church himself.

According to official reports, 17 of the accused have been placed under arrest, while one has been released on bail with a travel ban and placed under administrative supervision.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that an Armenian bishop had been arrested for attempting to overthrow the government.
