His Beatitude officiates all-night vigil at Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra

On the eve of the feast day of Venerable Anthony of the Caves, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church led an all-night vigil at the Lavra.
On July 22, 2025, the eve of the commemoration of Venerable Anthony of Kyiv, the father of all monks in Rus’, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine presided over an all-night vigil.
The service was held in the Church of Venerable Agapitus of the Caves at the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
Concelebrating with the Primate of the UOC were: Metropolitan Sergiy of Ternopil and Kremenets, Metropolitan Theodor of Kamianets-Podilskyi and Horodok, Metropolitan Meletiy of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna, Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, Metropolitan Clement of Nizhyn and Pryluky, along with a host of UOC hierarchs, the brethren of the Lavra, clergy from Kyiv, and visiting priests.
A large number of lay faithful gathered in the holy monastery to honor the memory of the founder of the Kyiv-Pechersk Monastery.
Prior to the vigil, an Akathist to Venerable Anthony was read, with the service led by Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary.
As previously reported by the UOJ, Venerable Anthony is “the saint without whom Kyiv would not stand."
