Man opens fire in church in the U.S.: Fatalities reported

The shooter entered a Baptist church during a service and opened fire on the congregation.
On July 13, 2025, in the state of Kentucky, an armed assailant shot and killed two female parishioners during a Sunday service at a Baptist church. Three other people were injured, including a state police officer, Fox News reports.
The incident began with an armed attack on a police officer near Blue Grass Airport, after which the suspect fled and hijacked a car. He later arrived at the church on Richmond Road, where a service was underway, and opened fire inside the building. The victims were identified as 34-year-old Christina Combs and 72-year-old Beverly Gamm. Two other people were wounded, one of whom is in critical condition.
The gunman was neutralized by responding police officers. The investigation is ongoing. Authorities and church representatives said they are working with the victims’ families and providing necessary support.
