Kostiantyn Bondarenko stated that the detection of ties between the UOC and the ROC based on the Statute of the Russian Church is evidence of the meanness of DESS officials.

Political expert Kostiantyn Bondarenko in an interview with blogger Alexander Shelest commented on the State Ethnopolitics document, in which officials found a connection between the UOC and Moscow based on the ROC's Statute.

"A very interesting precedent is being created because they appeal not to Ukrainian legislation, but specifically to the Statute of the Russian Orthodox Church, a document created on the territory of the aggressor state, if using official terminology," Bondarenko stated.

He emphasizes that according to this logic of the Ukrainian authorities, "it is possible to decide the fate of the Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions, as well as the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, based on the Constitution of the Russian Federation, to appeal to the Constitution of the Russian Federation."

"That is, our internal legislation, the Statute of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, is not a directive for them. So to speak, they ignore it because they appeal to another document, a document created in a neighboring state. Well, excuse me, we can go far with this. It simply shows the degree of stupidity and meanness of Ukrainian officials," the political expert said.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that DESS detected the affiliation of the Kyiv Metropolis of the UOC with the ROC.
