Poroshenko: How many Local Churches have recognized the OCU under Zelensky?

Poroshenko accused Zelensky of failing to support the OCU properly.
On July 4, 2025, during a meeting with the youth of Chernivtsi, former president Petro Poroshenko emphasized that he is proud of his role in securing the Tomos and accused Zelensky of offering weak support for the OCU.
Poroshenko recounted that during his presidency he regularly met with the primates of Local Orthodox Churches.
“I had nothing to be ashamed of when, during my international visits, my program always included a meeting with the primates of Orthodox Churches. With one message: the Church (OCU – Ed.) is the people’s Church, it has convincing support in Ukraine,” the former president stressed.
He highlighted that “under Poroshenko, four Orthodox Churches recognized the Ukrainian Church.”
“Tell me, how many recognitions of Churches have there been since my term ended?” the former president asked his audience.
As the UOJ previously reported, Poroshenko had complained that OCU militants “didn’t finish the job” during the attempted takeover of the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Chernivtsi.
