UOC’s Protection-Nicholas Church in Pokrovsk virtually destroyed

The church has been reduced to ruins due to ongoing shelling.
As a result of ongoing military actions in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, the Pokrovo-Nicholas Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church – located near the Pokrovske coal mine administration – has been virtually destroyed. Photos of the devastation were published on June 18, 2025, by the Telegram channel of the Pokrovsk Vicariate.
The images show that the church lies in ruins, with only fragments of the walls remaining. The structure itself has been almost completely demolished.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that another UOC church in Pokrovsk – dedicated to St. John Chrysostom – was also completely destroyed.
